TURNOUT GEAR DEMO
Firefighters may look scary to children! This program teaches children not to be frightened of firefighters or hide from them if they are called to their home in an emergency. Firefighters will try on each piece of their turn-out gear and explain why they use it and what protection it provides. This demo can be done at our station, or at your school or business. Just contact us via email or call the station we will be happy to set up a date and time.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING

Portable fire extinguishers are not designed to fight large fires, but they can be useful for small, contained fires at home or work. It is important to know how to operate one properly. Fire Extinguisher Training class  teaches the proper use of portable fire extinguishers used to contain a fire until the Fire Department arrives. This class can be taught at our station, call the station number to set up a date.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS

Free blood pressure screenings are available at the station Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Stop by at your convenience, and one of our paramedics or EMTs will perform the blood pressure screening. They can also provide a Blood Pressure Record card to help you track your readings.

CPR TRAINING

Fayetteville Fire and EMS provides CPR classes, this is a valuable skill set to save a life. Being trained to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one or a perfect stranger.  Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after cardiac arrest can double a victim’s chance of survival. CPR helps maintain vital blood flow to the heart and brain and increases the amount of time that an electric shock from a defibrillator can be effective.

REFLECTIVE ADDRESS SIGNS

Help us help you! Visible address numbers that are both easy to find and easy to read are one of the safety features that your home or business can have. Lives and property can be saved by posting adequate address numbers where emergency responders can find them without wasting time. Numbers must be visible from the street. Fayetteville Fire and EMS sell green reflective signs for $10 each.  Address numbers can be displayed horizontally or vertically. Please call our station to order your sign. We will even come out to install if needed. If you have any questions regarding placement or installation call the firehouse for more information.

AFTER THE FIRE

Hopefully you never need it but fires do happen. We as a department already see people in their worst time of need, there is such tragedy in a family loosing a home. To see those victims in the front yard watching their house burn down is a terrible thing to witness as a firefighter. The victims look so helpless and don't know where to start to fix this tragic event in their lives. We started this program to help victims of a house fire. We try to give them as much information as we can on any type of resource that they may need in such an event. We want to give the residents of our Village and Township the best service we possibly can by lending a helping hand even when the fire is out.  We give the victims a packet of information with certain contact info of firefighters, emt's, paramedics and anyone else that may be participating in this program. It's a program that the entire community can get involved with. If you are a business or resident that has something to give or just want to donate your time with this it would be greatly appreciated. Call (513) 875-2202 for more information.

Thank you and hope to hear from you.
